80 Years of Giornale di Brescia: Gruppo WISE Designs the Concept, Identity and Campaign for the Celebration

An important anniversary, a collective story, an integrated communication project.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Giornale di Brescia, Gruppo WISE partnered with the newspaper to develop the strategic and creative concept behind the entire celebratory campaign.

The work began with the creation of the official 80th anniversary logo, followed by the development of the campaign’s claim — “Read the present, write the future” — and the design of content and visual language to bring the message to life.

From Brand Identity to Urban Engagement

The visual and narrative core of the project took shape through a series of citywide initiatives designed to leave a lasting impact:

  • A Brescia metro train, transformed for six months into a moving immersive exhibition, wrapped with historical headlines, front pages, and iconic images selected from Giornale di Brescia’s archives.
  • A fleet of city buses, fully branded with the anniversary visuals, carrying the message of the celebration through the streets of Brescia.

Two tools of urban communication that narrate eighty years of journalism, community, and innovation — taking the story of the newspaper beyond its pages and into the lives of the people.

A Video Blending Emotion and Innovation

Telling 80 years of history required more than a traditional video — it demanded a language capable of honoring the past while speaking to the present.

In collaboration with Febo Films, we produced an institutional video that combines footage shot inside the headquarters of Gruppo Editoriale Bresciano with a highly innovative element: the animation of historical photographs using artificial intelligence.

Through this technology, faces, gestures, and places of the past move again — reactivated and brought back to life. The result is an immersive, emotional effect that transforms the Giornale di Brescia’s archives into a vibrant, contemporary visual story.

Enhancing the experience even further is an original soundtrack, composed specifically for the project to accompany every emotional transition with consistency and depth.

This is content that unites history and innovation, shaping an anniversary that not only looks back — but looks forward.
